Liberty Park Nature Center

Summit Metro Parks

The 3,900 square foot facility includes a picnic shelter designed to resemble an old barn, an outdoor amphitheater, and a campfire area with an “uncomfortable couch” made of sandstone.

Indoor and outdoor exhibits – including a 6-foot-tall epoxy resin black bear standing upright on its rear legs – are supplemented by two new hiking trails that give visitors hands-on experience with the park’s moss-covered sandstone cliffs, boulders, woods and wetlands. Rounding out the educational offering are two park naturalists who will host school and youth groups for day and evening programs.
