Liberty Park
Nature Center

TWINSBURG, OHIO

The Liberty Park Nature Center comprises more than 1,500 acres of park space and is sited to create a sheltered outdoor room that opens up to the trailhead of this extraordinary park.

The project program includes the Trailside Nature Center, exterior “front porch” for nature viewing and program space, open-air pavilion with fireplace for program and gathering space, and an outdoor amphitheater with barn stone seating and fire pit. This outdoor room protects the visitor from the strong prevailing winds on the site, where the winds are amplified by the rising topography and wide open area to the west of the site.

The site features many exposed sandstone cliffs that are unique to the area. These unique rock formations with the flora and fauna surrounding them, have been interpreted into the new trailside center with a focus on naturalist-led learning expeditions.
